The job stress is the emphasis of the research in the domain of management, psychology, medicine sociology, etc.. As the direct mental reaction to job stress, job satisfaction has close relation with the employees' turnover intention, job performance, etc.. The purpose of this study is to discuss the measuring dimensions of job stress and job satisfaction of basic employees in medium-small private enterprises, and how the job stress impacts on job satisfaction. It can provide guidance suggestions for the human resource management in medium-small private enterprises.An intensive literature review about the job stress and job satisfaction has been done. Based on the literature review, a questionnaire to find out the level of job stress and job satisfaction of basic employees in medium-small private enterprises has been designed and a survey has been conducted. The study targets are the the basic employees in 7 medium-small private enterprises in Zhejiang Province. 250 questionnaires were distributed, 207 respondents were involved in this study. The data was analyzed using statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, T-Test, one way-ANOVA, correlation analysis and regression. And the results are:1. Job stress of the subjects is greater than the medium degree. The employees have a highest degree of stress on Social Factor. Job satisfaction of basic employees is a little below the medium degree, among which the mean of Work Return is the lowest.2. Each demographic variable has partly significant difference on job stress and its aspects, and less partly significant difference on job satisfaction and its aspects.3. As a whole, job stress is significantly negative correlated with job satisfaction. Stress of role perception, occupational development, organizational factor and stress of interpersonal relation are negatively and significantly correlated with job satisfaction. Meanwhile, the aspects of job stress correlate to job satisfaction in different degree. But not all is significant correlation.4. Job stress has significant negative impact on job satisfaction, and can predict job satisfaction. Organizational factor, stress of interpersonal relation and stress of occupational development are significantly and negatively predictive of job satisfaction. However, social factor is a positive predictor of job satisfaction.
