China's Manufacturing Industry Cluster Studies, And Regional Economic Growth

This paper deals with the relationship between manufacturing industry cluster and regional economic growth.Industrial cluster is a economic phenomenon which occurs accompanying economic growth, the phenomenon that massive firms and pertinent agencies agglomerate in certain regions reduces the average cost of the cluster, and on the other hand reduces the average cost of each firm in the cluster, and then invisible assets of the industrial cluster generates. With the agglomeration of regional industry, specific regions can affect the regional economic growth by changing the stock of invisible assets.This paper has reviewed and combed the relevant literature about industrial cluster, regional economic growth and the relationship between them at first. On the basis of this, we define the concept of industrial cluster in this paper, describe the characteristic, classification and condition and forming mechanism of industrial cluster separately, analyze the effects that agglomeration functions on the changes of regional capital (invisible assets) and the process of generating goodwill. At the same time, we will educe patulous Solow-Swan economic growth model about industrial cluster basing on economic growth theories, and then depicts the stable per capital by using the model. Then, we use practical analysis to inspect and analyze the present situation of agglomeration and regional economic growth&development in China and use corresponding statistic data to depict the relationship between manufacturing industry cluster and regional economic growth. And taking Shandong as an example and making use of pertinent statistic data to depict the relationship between chemical fiber manufacturing industry cluster and economic growth of Shandong. At last, we draw the conclusion and put forward some corresponding policy suggestionsThrough the research in this paper, we can draw the following conclusions: 1. Since 1990s, the manufacturing industry of our country has produced obvious phenomenon of agglomeration on the distribution in the space, mostly manufacturing industries centre in the coastal minority province in the east.2. While the manufacturing industry concentrating in space distribution more and more, the disparity of the regional economic growth of our country is greater and greater, the economic growth rate of the eastern region which manufacturing industry concentrates is obviously faster than that of the central and western regions.3. Through practical analysis, we figure out that it is an important factor of influencing the regional economic growth difference of our country that the manufacturing industry agglomeration. It promote the economic growth fast of this regional that manufacturing industry centralizing in the eastern coastal region, while the economic growth rate of the central and western regions is relatively slow in which the industry cluster is less likely to form.The scientific innovation of this paper mainly embody in several aspects as follows:1. We put forward the inside connection between manufacturing industry unbalanced distribute in space and regional economic unbalanced growth;2.We present the way to describe agglomeration and regional economic growth and establishes corresponding growth models, then state the relationship between agglomeration and regional economic growth in theory;3. We use practical analysis to study the extent of regional growth, then present significant conclusion and provide operational reference basis and suggestion.
