International Comparative Study Of Industry Clusters

Under the background of economic globalization, a nation or a region's advantage of competitiveness is relied more on the industrial clusters that root in local place, and the most majority of world's wealth is created in those regions. Developing industrial clusters has become the main strategy for counties or regions to participate in international competition and to enhance innovative ability.Based on summing up the theories of industrial cluster, this paper analyses three different types of industrial clusters (which include high-tech industries cluster in Silicon Valley, traditional industrial clusters in Italy and the government-guided Industrial Cluster in Taiwan China) through comparative study, primarily learns about their successful elements, the mechanism of the formation and evolution path, then comes to conclude that: industrial clusters'core competitiveness is depended on the collaboration between enterprises, the culture of innovation, as well as on the improvement of entrepreneurship mechanisms, the role of government is not to"plan"a industrial cluster for granted, but to promote the development of a industrial cluster based on it's original industrial background.Finally, with a view to china's current status and constraints of developing industrial clusters, this paper makes several public policy suggestions: local government should be aware of any phenomenon of the possible industrial clusters, make rational plan to develop specific clusters, pay more attention to the collaboration between enterprises, strengthen them to root in local society, create a innovative atmosphere and improve the entrepreneurship mechanisms.
