The Structured Research Of Shanghai Ideal Group Information Project

The success rate of project execution is not very high in many companies, about 60~70% in generally. There are many problems such as delay, out of budget, not satisfying the requirement of customers. For improving success rate of project management, this thesis offers the structured approach of project management, to grasp three structured keys that affect success and failure of projects: organization structure, planning and controlling, human system.This thesis used Shanghai ideal group enterprise information project as the study case, we solved many problems by using structured approach. The project succeeded in the end. The detailed structured measures are:Structurizing of organization: We created the strong matrix of project management organization structure by analyzing organization structures of customer and contractor, the project's structure. Organization structurizing specified the benefit, requirement, power and responsibility of project stakeholders in the project organization structure.Structurizing of planning and controlling: We began with the structurizing of project's objective, and created work breakdown structure, organization breakdown structure, resource breakdown structure, cost breakdown structure of the information project. We built the structured master planning which obtained multi-periods and multi-levels, covered the scope, time, quality and cost of project on the above base. It controlled the two performance index of schedule and cost by using dynamitic earned value method.Structurizing of human system: The top management of customer and contractor focused on the most complex structured factor-----human system. The union project team built comprehensive and perfect human system, took the structured measures such as leadership, stimulation, power, communication, cooperation and conflict management.The structured approach integrates the three important factors: organization structure, planning and controlling, human system in Ideal group information project. We solved the problems in the project process and kept the balance of the general project objective on three areas: time, quality and cost. The project succeeded and satisfied the key project stakeholders in the end.
