Citrus is a major economic crop in Zhejiang, which is about 20% of the total citrus output in China's mandarin industry. The rapidly developingt citrus industry, has played a positive role of the local economic development in rural areas, which is increasing exports and improving the income of the farmers. As the rapid growth of the nationwide citrus' production, the competition will become even more serious. Zhejiang citrus industry, known for diverse varieties, is facing a big challenge from international and domestic markets stern , and the original advantages are gradually weakening.This research was based on the theory of Comparative advantage and Competitive advantages, applies economics, agricultural economics, industry econoics and citrus principles. and it manages to analysis of these factors affect the competitiveness of citrus industry by means of combination of macro-analysis with microanalysis, combination of positive and normative research, and combination of quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis, as well as applying econometric model, comparative analysis method.The article is composed of 6 Chapters. In the preface the purpose and significance of the research are clarified; and the basic ideas, methods and structure of the dissertation are introduced. Chapter II is basic theory and research review on industrial competitiveness. Chapte III introduces the historyand present situation of citrus industry both in China and Zhejiang. Chapter IV analyzes and calculates citrus industry competitiveness in Zhejiang, interms of the market -possessing rates,the resource endowment coefficient, and the Comparative Advantages Coefficient. Chapter VI analyzes some factors that affectes Zhejiang citrus industry competitiveness. Also the chapter illustrates resources factor inputs relations in Zhejiang citrus production by means of Cobb-Douglas production function. And a Logistic regression analysis model is established to analyze from farmer's behavior. Chapter VII is conclusions and suggestions. It raises some measures and suggestions to improve the competitiveness of citrus industry in Zhejiang.
