Japan Technical Barriers To Trade On The Impact Of The Tea Trade

With the rapid development of the world economy, the international trade is moving towords the process of liberalization. Although tariff barriers and the apparent non-tariff barriers are weakening in the constant, the hidden non-tariff barriers, especially technical trade barriers, have gradually become measures of countries to restrict imports. In recent years, China is facing the use of technical trade barriers to restrict China's exports in foreign trade, particularly in agricultural products and textile products. Therefore, the study of technical trade barriers, to a certain extent, has become an important research.The paper focuses on Japan's technical barriers to tea trade and Sino-Japanese tea trade. first of all, a general study is on processing, elaborating the increasing numbers of Japan's technical barriers to tea trade for years and analyzing its influence on Sino-Japanese tea trade in both aspects: control mechanisms of the number and the price. Secondly, Japan's technical barriers to tea trade, as a dummy variable to quantify, is considered in the gravity model which includes volume of Sino-Japanese tea trade. Based on the econometrics approach, the article makes quantitative analysis among 7 variables—Japan's GDP, China's GDP, Japan's technical barriers to tea trade, China's tea standards, the real exchange rate and tea export volume of major countries to Japan. The research result is that Japan's technical barriers to tea trade has a negative impact on Sino-Japanese tea trade, furthermore, the impact in the short term performs remarkably than long-term in particular and besides, China's tea standards is showed to have no correlation with Sino-Japanese tea trade.In accordance with the analyzing result, the recommendations are divided into two aspects: in one side, as to how to handle Japan's technical barriers to tea trade, suggests setting up the international standard system of pesticide residues in tea. In the other side, as to how to handle technical trade barriers abroad, firstly, it is proposed to be set the correct view in it and then have the initiative to cope with it. In the second place, set up and improve the early warning mechanism of technical trade barriers, as well as promoting the standardizationof the production of industry and products.
