Organic agriculture,recognized as sustainable development agriculture came into practice in 1940's and was accepted by many countries in 1970's.Since 1990,organic agriculture has been developed very fast in the world.From 2003 to 2005,organic field was increased by 15% annually in the world.To the year of 2005,the total area of organic field reached 31,000,000 ha.Over the world and the total trade volume of organic food amounted to 30000 million USD. In recent years,growth rate of organic food was over 20%in each year in European and American countries.China began its organic agriculture in 1980's and to the year of 2005 the total area of organic field and organic aquaculture came to 3,500,000 ha.The yearly trade volume reached 400 million USD.Now China is the second largest country in the world for its organic production.The first organic tea in China was issued by one of certification co in Holland in June 1990 and then the first batch of Organic tea was exported by Zhejiang tea Ltd Company.It became a milestone of organic production in China.Organic tea is not allowed to use any chemical synthesized substance and have to certificate by the third party.Therefore organic products are safe and best quality,and not cause pollution to environment during production.Research on organic tea production in China started in 1980's.Its main task was evolved in developing substitutions for chemical fertilizer and chemical pesticides.Research on substitution for chemical pesticides include nuclear polyhedrosis virus(NPV) against tea geometrid and tea tussock moth and Weber insect seat spore bacterium,chemical communication between the insect and pest,physical prevent means.Research on substitution for chemical fertilizer was engaged in planting of green manure and laying weeds in tea field,and producing organic fertilizer.Model for organic tea was put forward,which was composition of growth and raising and bio-model "raising pig-producing biogas-fertilizing tea tree".Laying weeds plays good effects on increasing organic material of tea soil,increasing nutritional elements,improving soil fertility and depressing growth of weeds.Planting green manure showed effect on improvement of soil erosion,solid nitrogen,increasing organic material and content of nitrogen.Tea Research Institute of CAAS developed a series of organic fertilizers to meet the needs of tea garden, and others institute develop ones such as Long-march,Green-Land etc.At initial of organic tea technology innovation,Tea Research Institute of CAAS was an important organization to study ecological pesticides,organic fertilizers as well as cultivation technology.Those research findings were put into extension by Organic Tea Research and Development Center.It was atypical linear innovation mode that had a long period time of research and slow speed of extension.During extension of organic tea period,especially as a hot of tea industry in China,The linear innovation mode turned into regional innovation mode. There were 13 provinces and cities in China that carried out items or projects about organic tea research.Those researches were still focused on development of substations for chemical pesticides and fertilizers and gained achievements.Tea Research Institute of CAAS,China Agricultural University and Department of Agriculture of Guangxi Zhuang Nationality Autonomous Region were awarded by the State government for research of organic tea.The regional innovation mode shortened period between achievement and application,speeded up extension of achievement and laid a solid base of technology for organic tea production.The extension system of organic tea has basically formed for 17 years of practice in China that is "start organic tea production by tea market,expands the consumption by spreading the organic idea,supports the extension of organic tea by advance technology,and maintains the development by certification".In China star the organic tea production in the condition of the overseas market needing. Certificate organizations and bodies spread the idea of organic agriculture for improve the development of organic tea.And propagandize the base principles of health,ecology,fare and care of organic agriculture.Let organic tea become the focus of the public and new demand of consumption throng the continuous exhibition of organic tea.And absorb enterprises to develop organic tea and promote its development in China.Extension of research achievements to practical utilization of organic tea technology keeps up the sustainable development of organic tea.The technology of organic tea is extended by two ways.One is extended to selected demonstration sites.After the main tea farmers obtain economic efficiencies from organic tea,they spread the technology to other tea farmers or tea production enterprises.The application of organic fertilizers and ecological pesticides in Zhejiang's Wu and Yiwu counties is under such a way.The other is to hold organic tea technology training class to popularize the research achievement.In a successive 9-year training course,now a technical service net with 1500 member for organic tea is set up in whole country.Any tea enterprise or tea farmer can get the newest technical achievement and new information about organic tea from this net.The most achievement about organic tea is popularized by this net. Organic tea certification plays an important roll in development of organic tea and extension of its technologies.The process of certification asked inspector that supervise the certification body whether conformed the standard of organic tea during the period of production.Certification helps to speed up application of new research achievement for organic tea.The certification organization plays an important roll in opening organic tea market and guiding the products position.The organization utilizes its resource to join together certified enterprises to build organic tea brand and adopt the supervision such as admission selling counter,affixing the digital mark to prevent fake.Those measurements guarantee reliability of organic tea quality and promotion of organic tea sale on market. Organized the cooperation between the processor and trader of organic tea,so as to share the success and information of organic tea,and reducing the cost of selling.According to the current condition of Chinese tea industry,guide the enterprise and farmer to producing prima and nice quality organic tea for increasing the efficiency.Hold organic tea exhibition to expend consumption in order to increase economic benefit for both enterprises and farmers. Based on the statistics,87%of organic tea enterprises obtain excellent economic efficiency.A developing way of organic tea with Chinese character has built up.After 17 years of extension,now organic tea becomes a typical industry of Chinese organic agriculture.In 2006,the total area of organic tea field reached 20,000ha,with an output of 15,000 tons,which occupied 1.5%of total tea output in China.Organic tea drink was over 30,000 tons and organic fertilizer was 32,000 tons.Chain of organic tea industry covers its front,mid and rear aspects.Total volume of organic tea industry accounts to 1,000 million RMB.Some organic tea production areas obtain good economic result.The value of organic tea garden in Wuyi county of Zhejiang province is 2.6 times higher than that of common tea garden.Organic tea produced in Wuyuan county of Jiangxi province is exported EU market and annual output of for export reaches 160,000 tons.Development of organic tea makes small farmers organized for the certification,production scale.The good quality of organic tea brings the regulation of construction of Chinese tea industry.Research on the substitute for chemical substance push forward the pace technical level of tea industry.The innovating sale mode of organic tea richens the theory of green consumption.In a word,development of organic tea production changes the impression of Chinese tea on market and improves the competition ability of Chinese tea.
