Chinese Telecommunications Industry, Technological Innovation Analysis

Telecommunication, one of the essential sectors in information industry, is playing an increasing important role in pushing world's economy development. Technological innovation, a core part of current enterprise development strategies, becomes the focused researching topic of many enterprises. New technologies and new services are popping up, and developing aggressively in China's telecommunication sector, and are already the keys of sustainable development.We believe technological innovation in telecommunication sector affects not only the development of telecommunication enterprises themselves in the competitive market, but also the extensive requirements from high-expecting end-users. 2009, as well as the following 5 years, is the year of innovation, reform and transformation in telecommunication sector, which encourages telecommunication enterprises to follow the heels of overall development, adjust company strategies and improve technological innovation models in parallel.As an employee in one of the major telecommunication equipment suppliers in China for over 8 years, I would like to analyze the technological innovation status of China's telecommunication sector, to understand th??oblems and disadvantages we confront in telecommunication sector, especially in telecommunication equipment suppliers, then to suggest optimization and improvement models and actions so as to break through core technological innovation and enhance China's telecommunication competitiveness.Key findings of this thesis lie in my suggestions on innovation models and actions for telecommunication companies, which are concluded from the common experience of oversea telecommunication sectors, the 20-year technical innovation experience of Chinese telecommunication companies, and the investigation to the technological innovation progress and scientific research status. This thesis listed the possible approaches of conception innovation, management innovation and model innovation in improving technological innovation in telecommunication sector.Chinese telecommunication sector does not obtain sufficient technological innovation talents, resources or favorable macro environment, but most importantly we lack of common recognition in technological innovation, inspiring management system and business model safeguarding our technological innovation programs. Only when we can ensure a favorable internal and external innovation environment, technological innovation could drive telecommunication reform and transformation and actively promote the growth of China's economy. I wish this thesis could foster new recognition from telecommunication colleagues, and help us confront the new opening-up telecommunication market.
