Xi'an Subway Project has gotten the official approval from the State. Subway Line 2 has started building. As one kind of urban transportation project, the subway project needs a big investment, and wide geographic area. So, it affects all aspects of the urban deeply, especially to the land use along the line of the subway. This influence not only leads to microcosmic change of the land use status around the subway station, but also macroscopically changes and affects the whole urban layout and its land planning. From the economic viewpoint, the construction of subway raises the land price around the subway, and improves the prosperity of real estate industry within this region. On the other hand, the joint development upon this land also provides a very important capital source for the building and running of the subway. Therefore, researching what and how the Xi'an Subway affects the land use around it becomes very urgent and having realistic significance.This paper firstly reviews the relevant theory on subway affecting the land use both indoor and outdoor. And then it introduces several practical cases on the land use along the subway line all over the world, summarizing some experiences and lessons. Based on the analysis above, this paper researches the influent condition of the land use along the Xi'an subway line. And use the ArcGIS software to extract, analyze the land data along the subway line, based on which, further analysis and comparison on the land use type along the subway have been done.At last, this paper puts forward several concrete recommendations for the land development and use along the subway line according to the practical conditions in Xi'an.
