Tourism Development In The Mineral Resource-exhausted Cities With Economies In Transition

With global environmental problems becoming more and more serious , resource-exhausted cities to achieve economic transition and sustainable development is an urgent need. The study of resource-exhausted cities on sustainable development issues is of great theoretical and practical significance. The economic transformation of resources-exhausted cities is a difficult problem in the world that hasn't yet been resolved so far. The industry structure adjustment of resources-exhausted cities is the difficult point and key of the industrial adjustment of city economy. Many scholars on this issue both at home and abroad have meticulous research.Tongchuan City in Shaanxi Province is a typical coal resources-exhausted city and should accelerate the economic restructuring. First, this paper introduces the significance of this study, purpose, innovation, and the summary of research on resource-exhausted cities. The second part is committed to the summary of the theory related to economic transformation and the feasibility of development of tourism industry. In the basis of condition for tourism in tongchuan, The third part analyses the selection of the alternative industries, identifies tourism as one of pillar industry.the fouth part is an idea of integrated development of tourism on this basis. Finally is the retrospect and prospect of the article.The freshness of paper is that based on research at home and abroad, it used factor analysis to classify alternative industries of tongchuan and put forward tourism as one of the mainstay industry. On this basis, the paper expounds the idea of integrated development of tourism. Through the analysis of tongchuan, the author hopes that Tongchuan could provide experiences and practices for other resources-exhausted city. Tongchuan and other resource-exhausted cities should make full use of the humanities and the natural landscape, combine with industrial heritage sites, to develop the tourism industry that can become one of important measures of restructuring and optimizing the industrial structure of the resource-exhausted cities.
