Construction Of Guangxi - Asean Tourism Economic Zone

Economic globalization and regional economy integration are two important trends under today's world economic circumstance. In the process of the construction of China—ASEAN Free Trade Area, tourism cooperation is not only an essential part of its construction, but also the leading industry. Under the background of China—ASEAN Free Trade Area, this thesis innovatively puts forward building Guangxi—ASEAN Tourism Economic Zone, that is ,building barrier-free, borderless travel zone in Guangxi and ASEAN countries, realizing the optimal allocation of resources within this region. Being different from the past research of tourism cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN, this paper regards the region as a unified, organic whole, probes into the construction of the regional tourism brand from the overall perspective. The thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction, which mainly introduces the background, significance, methods of the paper, and the comprehensive domestic research in regional tourism cooperation and academic research into tourism cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN. On this basis, the paper found the study of Guangxi-ASEAN cross-border Tourism Zone is relatively inadequate, so the results of this research will be useful to the Guangxi-ASEAN tourism economic zone construction, and promote tourism in this region.The following four chapters are the main body of the paper.The first chapter presents the theory of cross—border tourism economic zone and introduces the existing barrier—free tourism zones. The theoretical basis for barrier—free tourism zones are: regional division of labor theory, interdependence theory of regional economic development, regional economic imbalances in development theory and the theory of industrial clustering. The existing cross—border tourism zones include EU tourism zone, tourism economic zone in North America and the Middle East tourism zone.Chapter 2 analyzes the significance and advantages of constructing Guangxi—ASEAN Tourism Economic Zone. From the standpoints of Guangxi and ASEAN, the constructing of Guangxi—ASEAN Tourism Economic Zone can promote economy development within this region and benefit the China—ASEAN Free Trade Area construction. Then comprehensively analyzes the advantage of building Guangxi—ASEAN Tourism Economic Zone, namely: good historical opportunity, the Government attaching importance to tourism development in the region, geographic proximity, cultural affinity, abundant tourism resources, the rapid development of regional economy, valuable tourism cooperation experience.Chapter 3 focuses on the barriers of building the Guangxi-ASEAN Tourism Economic Zone, and the region's tourism cooperation. Section 1 introduces the tourism cooperation within ASEAN countries, and the effort that Guangxi, ASEAN have put into the construction of the Tourism Zone so far and the development of this tourism zone. After a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the global economy and political situation, this region'specific circumstances, section 2 identifies the barriers from the following six aspects, namely: the impact of economic globalization on this region, the negative impact of terrorist activities and wars in some areas, political, economic, social cultural and educational barriers.Chapter 4 proposes the strategies of establishing Guangxi—ASEAN Tourism Economic Zone. By upgrading Guangxi tourism competitiveness and strengthening Guangxi and ASEAN tourism integration, the paper proposes treating Guangxi and ASEAN region as an organic whole, promoting uniform development and advertising, constructing cross-border Tourism Zone.
