Study Of The Poverty Of Migrant Workers In The Western Region

Since reform and open policy, with the deeply development of rural operating system's reform and the expansion of the urban-rural disparity, more and more peasants swarm into cities, and produced a special social groups—migrant workers.From the inner logic of the urbanization evolution, the migration of migrant workers will not decline in the short term, at the same time it will be speeded up with the urbanization of our country. Seen the present flowing of regional characteristics, the main trendy is keeping moving to southeast coast area, the other obvious one is the transfer to the western region, and the latter one is becoming increasingly apparent. It should be mentioned that under the special background the peasant workers have become an important force in the urban economy by their own advantages and cheap labor work spiritual.But on the other hand, because of Chinese special dual social structure,the employment market structural imbalance,institutional obstacles and the lack of their quality and abilities,the survival and development environment of migrant workers is becoming increasingly severe, and many factors force them to become the marginal groups in the city.Based on literature review and investigation, This article try to study the poverty of migrant workers in the western region by using of empirical analysis and normative analysis methods. The article is divided into six chapters, the main content as follows.1.In the first chapter, the article summarizes the relevant theories of migrant workers poverty at home and abroad, and found that both research methods and research contents are further deepening and expanding on poverty of migrant workers.2. In the second chapter, the article generalizes the characteristics of western migrant workers and analyzed the flowing reason of western migrant workers. At first. By using the survey data of migrant workers in Xi'an. the article summaries the characteristics of migrant workers in the western region, On this basis, the Article analysis the reasons of the flow of migrant workers by means of "push-pull" theory.3.In the third chapter, the article summarizes the poverty situation of migrant workers in the western region,and point out that the poverty of migrant workers belongs to broadest sense of the poverty which include material poverty and humanistic poverty.4.In the fourth chapter, the article analysis the reasons of the migrant workers poverty.Point out that migrant workers'poverty results form the external factors and internal factors. External factors are the duality of labor market segmentation,mutual of binary system between the urban and rural and the lower development of industrialization and urbanization; Internal factors are their's lower quality,heavy burden of family,lack of City life ability and social support networks.5.In the fifth chapter, the article gives some suggestions to solve the migrant workers'poverty, put forward that we should improve the migrant workers'abilities,adjust and perfect the social policy,promote greater integration between urban and rural and so on.6. In the last chapter, the author summarizes the viewpoint of the article and puts forward some theory problems required further study and deepening.
