The international situation has changed a lot since the end of the Cold War. As the only super power around the world, the United States is not only trying tend to proactively preventing the global strategic rival, but also intensify its effort to control the world's major strategic resources including the oil in Iran. In 1993, China ended its history of oil self-sufficiency and turned a net exporter to a net importer. Since its reforms and opening-up policy has been carried, China's economy has seen a fantastic improvement and rapid growth for over thirty years. Since adequate oil supply is a necessary precondition for China's further economic development, strength the cooperation with foreign competitors including Iran in the area of oil will have an important impact on China's oil security as well as its continued sustainable economic growth.
