CIinica1 and Experimental Studies on Prophylaxis andTreatment of Diabatic PeripheraI Neuropathy withTang Zhou Ning CapsulesSpeci~: ChnicaI haernd mthee of TCM / W and beatment onendocrtwthy ofchal Chinese medicineTutOr: vicetw Qnd QndaiStudent: Su--AbstractDiabetic W NeuroPathy (DPN) is a hequenily accoUned chredccOInP- Which dO grea bo tO the health Of DM patients. Chrwhc --lfor anOha. Inalntw, neurotic leSion are the Inain pe of DPN. It is mainlyM in foror DM Patients, as the DM mOthidity is inCreaSed shmply reCendy, themothidity of DPN is increased. and becowi higher and higher as the M's ageand the coune of DM increased. So. the study on how to diagnsis and trea it early- before the M occurred to PreVen and trea it effechvely, to lotter the mortahtybo, to discOV the nd method and drug to ha it has already become a gh andimPOrtan t issue of medicine societyThere is no such a nam as DPN in ancien bibliograPhy bu accordin tO itsclforcal haures DPN shoul belong tO XiaoKe, Torpidity BuRen, BiWei, XueBi, ct alin TCM. TCM has edsen gnat W in medicine society because its CXttwdescriPtiOn and investigation on the etiolOgy pathOgeness and treabo of DPN andits W accothe to the Mle of differentiation and itS methods which havecOnStan effect and no major sthe effect. But the investigation on DPN by TCM wasmajnl don on the basis of the wtence and lack of thcoretic exPlanation andinVedgatio on both clhacal and -- ground. and no effecthe proPrimpChinese medicine has been discOVered. So conducted Sytwatic thcorec, cbocal andeXPeforntal invStigedon of DPN has grea sighficance. On the basis of TCM basic theory combined with medem research, and aller manyyears ofcndcai experience, my tUtor considered tha DPN is a disease of deficiency in2origin and excess in superficiality occurred on the basic pathogenesis of DM. Its pathogenesis key is vacuity of Qi and Yin. Deficiency of Qi and Yin is the main pathologic basis, and blood stagnation and phlegm stasis is existed through the all Progress of DPN. So boosting Qi and nourishing Yin, transforming stasis and dispelling phlegm is proposed as the main treatment principle on it, and TangZhouNing(TZN) is carefully composed accordingly. To further investigate the clinical effectiveness and the action mechanism of TZN, we conducted systematic clinical observation and experimental research. The clinical investigation shows that TZN is very effective to lower the blood sugar and blood lipid and to improve blood rheology and 151 with a better of the glucosylation-Hb as well as improving the clinical symptoms of DPN, it can also improve the blood circulation in limbs. So TZN is very effective in the prevention and treatment of DPN. In 30cases of DPN patients treated with TZN, marked effectiveness was 40%, effectiveness was 46.67%, no effect was 13.33%, the total effectiveness rate was 86.67% and higher than that of control group, after statistic treatment there was significant difference. The animal experiments showed that TZN can lower blood sugar, blood lipid, MDA and RBC-sorbitol, improve blood rheology, prevent the aggregation of platelet, increase the sciatic nerve conduction velocity and the SOD activity significantly. All the results were better than those of control groups and had significant difference (P<0.0 1), it showed that TZN has multiple preventive effect on DPN such as lowering blood sugar and blood lipid, anti-coagulation, thrombus-prevention, anti-oxidization, protection of neurones. So TZN is a rather ideal and effective ready-prepared Chinese medicine on DPN and merits further develop and investigate.
