Acupoint Catgut Embedding Therapy For Treatment Of Simple Obesity Clinical Research

Object: The article was to observe the effect of catgut implantation at acupoint on curing simple obesity and discuss the mechanism.Methods: 72 cases were divided into two groups randomly. One group was treated with catgut implantation at acupoint, The other was treated with acupuncture. Catgut implantation at acupoint was given once a week, 2 treatments constituted of one course; acupuncture was given six a week, 4 weeks constituted of one course, two course were given.Result: After the treatment of two courses, the group of catgut implantation at acupoint was 94.44%, but the other was 88.89%. The obesity signs had been improved obviously while the contents of the body weight, sebum fat thickness, BMI, TG, TC and LDL-C decreased, HDL-C increased. Compared after treatment to before, it showed the significant deference in statistic. The result also showed that Ins had decreased which was always high level in blood of simple obesity. The data indicated that both catgut implantation at acupoint and acupuncture could correct the resistance of Ins in simple obesity.Conclusions: Catgut implantation at acupoint can cure simple obesity. The curative effect of Catgut implantation at acupoint is more distinguished. This method can save money, time and stay action.
