Comparison Of The Efficacy And Safety Of Catgut Implantation At Acupoint With Different Materials For Treatment Of Simple Obesity Cases

Objective:To explore the different effects and reaction after operation of catgut implantation at acupoint with different materials for treatment of simple obesity cases, and to provide evidence for the project design of further clinical catgut implantation at acupoint study.Methods:Fifty patients in accordance with inclusion criteria were divided into two groups according to random number table, catgut group of25patients and PGLA group of25patients too. Eventually a complete data of46cases, catgut group of25patients and PGLA group of21patients.The two groups used the same prescription. The main acupoints were Tianshu, Zhongwan, Daheng, Qihai, Huroumen, Wailing, and Fenglong and combined with selecting points according to the different symptoms.Catgut group choosing0chromic catgut and disposable and minimal invasive needle.Cut the catgut into1.5cm and then put it in the needle through the front point, followed by needle core. Fixing the skin with thumb and index finger of the left hand and holding the needle with right hand. Piercing the skin rapidly after routine disinfection then slowly arriving an appropriate depth. Draw back the needle tubing when pushing the needle core after deqi and oppression pinhole to prevent bleeding. PGLA group choosing PGLA medical absorbable thread and the operating methods were the same as catgut group. Catgut implanting1time every10days,3times for a period of treatment, observing two periods. Recording the patients clinical symptoms integral, the time when the patients first reducing the appetite, fatcalculators (body weight, body fat, waist circumference, hip circumference etc). All the assessments according to 《Therapeutic effect evaluation standard of the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of simple obesity》. Recording and adverse reactions such as fever, redness and swelling, pain, induration.SPSS19.0statistical software was performed in the statistical analysis.Result:(1) Two groups of patients both improved overall symptoms and reduced the clinical symptoms integral. The improvements of two groups are the same, P>0.05.(2) After treatment the two groups of patients all can obviously felt reducing appetite and appetite were suppression. The symptom of increased eating with rapid hungering was improved. And the effects of two groups are the same, P>0.05.(3) The body fat, body weight, body mass index of two groups of patients were both significantly reduced after treatment. The reducing degrees of two groups are the same, P>0.05.(4) The Waist circumference, hip circumference, waist-to-hip comparison of two groups of patients were both significantly reduced after treatment, the decreasing degree of catgut group is bigger than in PGLA group, P<0.05. (5) The total effective rate of catgut group is80.0%,and the total effective rate of PGLA group is81.0%, P>0.05.(6) The materials of two groups all can produce adverse reactions. The probabilities of pain, redness and swelling have no difference, P>0.05. PGLA group produced less Indurations and took less time at absorbing Indurations.Conclusion:Catgut and PGLA all have good effects when using at catgut implantation at acupoint for treatment of simple obesity. But PGLA generates less adverse reaction.
