Purpose:To observe the clinical efficacy of the treatment of acute ischemic stroke with scalp and body acupuncture, compared with the control group, indicate the effectiveness and advantages of acupuncture treatment.Object and method:From the neurological wards, we chose 60 inpatients diagnosed as cerebral infarction and conformed to the standard, according to the order of the patients were hospitalized; the patients were randomly divided into acupuncture group and control group. Both groups of the patients were treated in accordance with the basis of neurology. On this basis, the acupuncture group has been given scalp and body acupuncture treatment. The treatment lasted for 2 weeks. Before and after treatment we used the U.S. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) on a comprehensive assessment of patients. With functional independence (FIM) assessment of the patients'activities of daily living (ADL) assessment, a simplified method of Fugl-Meyer assessment of motor function in patients was assessed. All data was analyzed by using SPSS 15.0 statistical software for data analysis.Results:1. After treatment, both groups use an integrated treatment plan (NIHSS) to compare the clinical efficacy. The total effective rate of acupuncture group is 83.33%, control group is 66.67%, the difference between the two groups was significant (P<0.05), it shows that after treatment the total effective rate of the acupuncture group is higher.2. By Comparing with two groups of patients before and after treatment with FIM score, the two groups before treatment show no significant difference (P>0.05),but the two groups after treatment show a larger difference between (P<0.05).It illustrates that acupuncture group in improving activities of daily living is better than the control group. 3. Compared with two groups of patients before and after treatment, the upper and lower limbs motor function score, before treatment it shows no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05), a larger difference between the two groups after treatment (P <0.05).It demonstrates that acupuncture group in the improvement, upper and lower limbs motor function is better than the control group. Conclusion:The therapy of scalp and body acupuncture treatment of patients with acute cerebral infarction is definite, because it can improve the patient's activities of daily living and motor function, and improve the quality of life.
