In recent years, higher vocational schools have trained a large amount of high-quality skilled personnel, which can not replaced in the process of socialist modernization. With the development of higher vocational education, Chinese attainments and abilities are more and more required, especially practical writing ability. Although the teaching in higher vocational practical writing has made a rapid progress, there are still many problems existing, such as lack of clarity in teaching objectives, uninteresting teaching methods, inadequate teaching organization and design, the formalism of writing practice, and so on. So it is more and more important to survey the practicality of practical writing teaching.Based on detailed investigation of the nature and status of the practical writing teaching in higher vocational schools, this thesis makes a thorough investigation and study on the current situation of flight information and statistics institute, Zhengzhou vocational College. Then, this thesis draws on the theories of teaching process optimization to defines the objective and function of practical writing teaching, under the guidance of the teaching philosophy of necessity, practicality and availability. At last, this thesis put forwards the optimal strategies for the practical writing teaching in higher vocational schools.The following conclusions can be drawn. On the one hand, we could optimize the content of practical writing courses by means of streamlining text types and theories, integrating professional disciplines, selecting text types and examples. On the other hand, we could optimize the teaching method by means of taking students, trains, thinking mode training, campus activities as the main body. The purpose of this thesis is to build up opening teaching model, in order to broad learning areas, improve practical writing ability, promote Chinese and professional literacy and enhance employability of the students in higher vocational schools.
