In daily life, gender roles refer to understanding of differences between man and woman under the social-cultural construction, and their group characteristics and behaviors. At present, the most common roles types are classified by Bern, he classified them as masculine, feminine, double gender and undifferentiated. Gender role types influence individual each aspect, such as professional maturity, subjective well-being and security, interpersonal relations, a lot of researches show that different gender role types exist different levels of psychological health, among which, the double gender is the highest.The formation of gender role types are influenced by various of factors, among which the environment's is the maximum. Previous researches mainly focused on under single gender environment students' gender roles and mental health, while ignoring the vocational schools such as fine, HuJiao, police, etc in which imbalance between man and woman. So, under a single sex environment how are students' gender role types and psychological health level? what can we do? What should we do to cope? These will be the topics of discussion.Our research adopts Bem sex roles questionnaire, SCL-90 self rating scale (symptoms) and simple way to deal with the questionnaire. Objects are from Luoyang Henan, vocational colleges in which sexy ratio is imbalanced,600 objects (among them, luo yang kids normal school girls are 300, luo yang police boys are 300).we discuss in a single and not a single sexy environment s teenagers' gender role types, distribution and mental health and their mutual relationship, drawing the following conclusions:(1) In a single sex environment, the proportion of women is higher than men:in undifferentiated type, the proportion is inverted.(2) In a single sex environment, students' comprehensive mental health level is relatively poor. The way of coping is more positive.(3) In a single sex environment, girls' psychological health level is high and coping is positive; Not the only child's way to deal is relatively positive.(4) Negative coping is the main influence factor on mental health and it is negatively correlated with psychological health, mental health level and actively coping, feminine,double gender are positively correlated.
