Study Of College Students Self-esteem And Parental Rearing

Self-esteem of college students is one of the important guidelines of mental health. It is related with students parenting in childhood. The purpose of present study was to explore the relationship of self-esteem and parenting.The first part of this study was to revise the Self-esteem Scale(SES).In the second part, college students were asked to complete the SES and EMBU .Result indicated : l.The SES had high reliability and validity; 2.This study did not find the significant difference of gender, age and city vs. country; 3.Father is the same important role as mother in the family 4.College students' self-esteem was significantly correlated with, father 's warmth, and was negatively correlated with mother's punishment and rejection, however self-esteem showed no significant association with parents' overprotection and intervention.5.Parenting is effected by job, level of culture, environment, children's gender and so on..
