| In this thesis, we observed and studied the shop-names of Tianjin from the field of social linguistics. With the competition for the market is getting fiercer and fiercer, the shop-names have been become more and more concerned by people. So the study of shop-names has not only practical values, but also theoretical values.Generally, a shop-name is composed of three parts: (a) the first part is the attribute-name; (b) the second part is the profession-name; (c) the third part is the universal name. The attribute-name is the most important part in a shop-name.The shop-names directly reflect a lot of aspects, such as economics, politics, culture, and social psychology. The shop-names also have time-features. At the same time, the shop-name has close ties with the languge culture construction.With the new millennium is coming and the new shops are becoming more and more, the study of the shop-name has already become an important subject of social linguistics. We should pay attention to the theory of social linguistics. What's more, we should use the theory to guide the naming practice. |
