The Modern Chinese Word Phrase Research

The "的 " phrase is a phrase that appears frequently in modern Chinese and is also a hot grammatical research topic. But it demands more detailed and deeper inquiry. Based on other linguists' study, this thesis has observed and analyzed the "的 " phrase by applying Valance Theory and Three Planes Theory. It has tried to reveal this phrase's grammatical properties and laws after meticulous description.This thesis consists of six parts:1 .The function of " 的 " in the " 的 " phrase and the judgment of the "的 " phrase in the "是...... 的 " structure.2. Detailed description on the syntactic function of the " 的 " phrase .3. Analyzed the rules that the"的 "phrase substitutes the nominal with the application of Three Planes Theory. Concluded its rules of designation after analyzing its substitution for the nominal.4. Studied the ambiguity index of the "的" phrase and explained incidentally the cause ambiguity of the "的 " phrase's ambiguity with the application of Valance Theory.5. Studied with the application of Three Planes Theory, the features of some structures relative to the"的 "phrase, including the "VP的VP","你VP你的"'这样做是合情合理的'与'这样做是偏听偏信'".
