The 1940' is important in Chinese modem history. From stalemate of Anti-Japanese War to victory and from the Civil War to the establishment of new China, modernization progress of China appears special situation in three themes: saving the nation from extinction, initiation, standing up. When political discourse leaguing popular discourse and intellectual discourse squeezed to the edge, Ding Ling finishes the transition of style whose creation and destiny embody the value of Chinese modern intellectual. Her works embody the pestering of various discourse. From "cultural lady" to "armed general", Ding Ling with multiple identities: intellectual, female, leader of Yanan revolutionary literature, the aim of Yanan rectify, creates 5 novels in the forties. Although her works have been influenced by political discourse before rectifying, intellectual and woman discourse are the leading factors. After rectifying, political and popular discourses occupy the leading position, while intellectual and woman discourse are invisible. In her works, intellectual discourse reflects woman discourse.In this thesis, the first part expounds the Chinese social surrounding of the forties and the relation between Ding Ling's destiny and times. The second and the third parts observe the discourse in her works. The second part expounds how her intellectual discourse reflect, going through from struggle to submission under political discourse. The third part expounds the main embodiment of intellectual discourse-woman discourse, how from appearance to invisibility before and after rectifying.
