The view of human nature is a fundamental attitude and philosophical assumption toward human being. It is a base of the theories and technologies of psychological counseling. Every counseling concept has its own view of human nature. Usually when a consultant meets his client, what he wants to find is determined by his counseling concept which ultimately determines the center and course of counseling and influences the choices of the counseling strategies and process. Basically, high school students' psychological problem is caused because of incorrect understanding towards themselves, others and human nature. When counseling with them, a consultant should fully consider both his and his client's view of human nature. What's more, a consultant should pay attention to his basic assumptions when forming his counseling attitude. The current study has four parts, including theory summary, a study on high school students' view of human nature, counseling strategies toward high school students, and conclusions and future research direction. In the second part, a questionnaire of the view of human nature and corresponding counseling strategies are developed. The participants are 367 high school students.Survey results indicate that : 1 )Most high school students in this sample identify with the view of human nature of humanistic and cognitive school ,whereas relative few identify with that of behavioral school. This phenomenon informs us that when using behavior therapy on high school students in counseling, we should take some measures to avoid possible psychological reactance; 2) Subjects of different gender, school and grade have differences on some factors of view of human nature. And the cause of these differences needs further research; 3). Students from different levels of schools have their particular characteristics on view of human nature, from which we learn that in counseling we should consider students' characteristic of view of human nature and took corresponding counseling strategy. 4) The dimensions and factors of the view of human nature are different among different counseling schools. So futurea scale of view of human nature could be based on a specific counseling school or based on more common dimensions and factors.
