Self-control refers to the ability of individuals to adjust their behavior and continue to pursue their long-term goals.Self-control can help us achieve many positive results on the one hand, and help us control impulses on the other hand to avoid negative outcomes. For high school students, students with strong self-control ability generally have better academic performance, interpersonal relationships, less involvement in skipping classes, school violence and other bad behaviors. The high school stage is a crucial period for the development of young people. The cruel pressure to go to school has made the current high school students' psychological problems frequent.Learning how to control yourself is a real problem that high school students need to solve. Many researchers in the psychology community are paying attention to how to improve the self-control ability of high school students.Research on the self-control ability of high school students, especially intervention research, can help high school students to better manage themselves, and also provide certain supplementary materials for self-control research. The research is divided into two parts, one is to investigate the status of self-control ability of high school students in Inner Mongolia, and the other is to design a self-control group counseling program according to the selfcontrol process model, through the quasi-experimental method before and after the experimental group and the control group To investigate the intervention effect of the intervention program on the self-control ability of high school students, and whether the intervention effect is sustainable. In this study,659 high school students in Inner Mongolia were surveyed by the Self-Control Questionnaire for Middle School Students.620 valid questionnaires were collected. The results showed that the self-control ability of high school students in Inner Mongolia was generally good, and the selfcontrol ability of girls was significantly higher than that of boys. The self-control ability of the first to the third year is gradually improved, and the difference between the different grades is significant. Then based on the definition of self-control ability and related theories, design a self-control group counseling program, including: physiological and psychological factors affecting self-control,strategies to improve self-control,goal selection and setting. The mentoring program lasts for six weeks and two hours a week.In addition to participating in the course activities, the specified after-school assignments are completed each week. The experimental group consisted of 50 people, aged between 15 and 17 years old,50% of women, and 50 of them did not participate in the course as a control group. At the end of the course, one month after the test. The results showed that in the scores of the Self-Control Questionnaire for Middle School Students, the post-test and one-month retest of the experimental group were significantly improved compared with the previous test, and were significantly higher than the control group. The results of this study showed that after six weeks of intervention, the self-control ability was improved, and the intervention effect was stable. The design of the display program was effective, and the relevant content was worth promoting. The innovation of this research is mainly reflected in the fact that foreign research on self-control ability is mainly based on laboratory experiments. This research is close to reality, including many factors affecting self-control ability, and forms a complete group counseling program.
