Guan Hanqing Preposition Study

Guan Hanqing is a great dramatist in Chinese dramatic history. The language in his works is clear and dialectal. Wang Guowei gave high evaluation on him in Dramatic History Of Song And Yuan. Most of existing research is relative to literature and drama. The research of language was only paid emphasis on check of his works, examination and correction of words. There is not much grammar research on Guan's Drama. Hence it is significant to study the preposition in Guan's Drama, which will give an impulse to the research on grammar in Guan's drama.The system of the preposition in Guan's Drama is good in synchronic level, so some characteristics of preposition in the same times can be partly reflected to research it.The preposition in Guan's Drama is important because it forms a connecting link between the preposition in the middle ancient Chinese and in diachronic level. The usage of some prepositions in Guan's Drama has more development than it in the middle ancient Chinese, and the usage of some preposition in modern Chinese can be found the clue in Guan's Drama. So, it will be significant to study the preposition in Guan's Drama in order to research the preposition in the same times and development of the preposition.In this thesis, we classifies 14 preposition into three groups: Prepositions for Execution, Preposition for Passivity, Preposition for Participation．We study the origins of each preposition first of all, then descript and analyse their usage in Guan's Drama, and then discuss their development to modern Chinese ,and we drive some reliable conclusion by comparing of different preposition in the same category.It has also been found in the research that every preposition is different in holding the same usage that some preposition holds the most of usage in the same category; Those special and distinctive styles keep alive;...
