Translating is a process of conveying information. Because of the language difference between the writer and the reader, there is an obstacle in conveying information. The mission of the translator is to eliminate this obstacle. For this purpose, the translator must try to take in the information of the original article as completely and exactly as possible, and to convey the information to the reader with the same completeness and exactness. The nature of translating is the conversion of meaning and information between languages. Language is not only the conveyor of meaning but also the conveyor of information. Nature of adding the information is the process of converting scenario information into literal information. Nature of passing over information is the process of converting literal information into scenario information. This thesis studied the phenomena of adding and passing over translation in the Korean-Chinese literature works translating from informative prospect, to research the theory of translating. The standard of translating should represent the elements like content, form, style of the original works and make the readers of the translated works feel more or less the same with the readers of the original works. Here the feeling of the readers become the standard of estimation; representing the content, form and style is the means of achieving the standard.Author of the thesis compared the original and translated work of 《Dawn in the East》 by Yang Mo and picked up 860 sample sentences. Among the above mentioned sample sentences there are 510 sentences in which there are added information and in 350 there were information passed over. Author classified and analyzed these sentences, and concluded the conditions ofadding or passing over the information. To properly deal with the problem of adding or passing over information, theoretic direction is needed, especially informative theoretic analysis and direction. The significance of this topic is to solve the realistic problem and make the theory of translating more thorough and prolific. The following are the conditions author concluded to add or pass over translations by classifying sample sentences. The added parts were classified as content representing prospect, style representing prospect. Passed over parts were classified as content representing prospect, form representing prospect and style representing prospect. 1. Conditions to add information in translation 1) content representing prospectPrecondition of translating process is to be faithful to the original work, but for more explicitly expressing the idea of original work to the readers, more information can be added in the translation. Information can be added when the original work need additional explanation or emphasis. It will make the it more accurate in conveying the content of original work to the readers of the translated work and easy for them to understand.2) style representing prospectStyle of literal work refers to the artistic and creative characteristics the writer or artist conveyed in their procedure of producing artistic works. Since the life experience, point of view, cultural background and personalities of the writers and artists are different from one another, the way of feature description, way of expressing, language style will also be different from one to another, these are referred as the style of the artistic work. Translating process shouldtake the readers' feeling into consideration, so only translating the content and meaning is far from enough. Good translation work should also represent the style characteristics of the original work.In the style representing prospect, author considered that proper information can be added to more visualized translating original work, like onomatopoeia, mimesis or figurative language and means of exaggeration.
