| As a postgraduate majoring in MTI, it is vital to improve his or her ability in practice in the light of suitable theories. By engaging in the translation practice of Yalgoo Iron Project, the author considers it of great necessity to analyze specific problems in practice so that relevant suggestions and experiences can be used in similar texts translation henceforth.The studied text assigned to the author mainly refers to those which are closely related to field of geological survey and mining engineering, such as geological engineering, mining engineering, resources exploration engineering and prospecting technology and engineering. It is featured with considerable information, various types, highly specialized expertise and strong purposiveness. Firstly, the author introduces the background of the whole project and requirements of the commissioner. It is then followed by an analysis to the texts features from lexical, syntactical and stylistic levels, which includes the frequent use of nominalization, attributives and attributive clause, long and complicated sentence, what’s more, a description of the information theory in chapter two. In the third chapter, the author intends to present the improved version discussing questions of improper translation of terminology, logic and those related ones in the first draft in views of information center and redundant information, which elaborate the author’s enlightenments and reflections on translation practice. The last part is a summary from aspects of information translation mode and importance of logical analysis, and at the same time the author hopes it could offer some useful advice to those who’d like to devote to the greatness of information texts translation. |
