In the teaching career, the author has long been puzzled by the problem of those graduates majoring in sculpture who have difficulty finding jobs. As far as this puzzle is concerned, the author selects Beijing Institute of Art & Design as the researching target and focuses on the severe situation in employment. This essay mainly talks over this problem from three aspects: first, the requirement of technical talents in the society and the current status of technical posts; second, some problems in the employment of the sculpture-major graduates from the higher vocational colleges; third, the influence of teaching objects and course framework in present higher vocational education on the ability of the graduates. By analyzing the above-mentioned problems, the author ponders over the teaching objects and program in the higher vocational education.The research aims at exploring the relationship of vocational education, students' employment and social requirements in order to confirm the training target in the vocational art education and improve the students' ability in keeping up with the social development and acclimatizing themselves to job seeking.
