Different countries and nationalities have their own languages and this gradually result in diverse language cultures with distinguished characteristics. As time goes by, the connotation of different languages has changed and improved dramatically, and it is on the way to perfection. Idioms, as an important element worth mentioning, are not only evolved from cultures but also are the essences that reflect cultures of different nationalities. They are closely related with the local history, customs, religions, and geographic location. Research on the differences and similarities of slang of languages is very important as findings of research will help to understand the history of the language development, and further discuss and study the meanings in communication.China is a country with 5000 years history, Korea is the neighbor of China. The languages of the two countries are somehow different from or similar to each other due to the geographic distance and differences in history. This dissertation will discuss the differences and similarities of proverbs in Chinese and Korean by contrastive analysis, and based on the analysis, the writer will also further discuss the differences between and similarities of the two cultures in the perspective of proverbs, and in addition, these differences and similarities are reflected in the lanaguage in use.Chapter one is the introduction.
