This paper is intended to explore the psychological conditions of the junior middle school students in Kunming and manners of parental rearing. The investigation was based on variable difference analysis. As a result, a model of the relationship between the two is put forward in this paper, which is also intended to help the parents improve their manners of rearing and thus to better the psychological health of the junior middle school students.With questionnaires built by us , SCL-90 (revised edition), and quantitative evaluation chart of home education, questionnaire of psychological health need evaluation, the author investigated 689 junior middle school students in Kunming, 309 of whom are males and 380 females, and whose average age is 13. 7. All of the data were recorded into computer and were processed by SPSS10.0. My research indicates:1. The level of the conditions of the psychological health of the junior middle school students in Kunming is higher than national normal model, while we cannot ignore negative moods, such as hostility and anxiety. The conditions of the girls are much lower than those of the boys, and conditions of the students of grade 9 are also lower than those of the students of grades 7 and 8. There is no obvious difference between the psychological conditions of students of urban and agricultural backgrounds, and the psychological conditions of students of single-parent-family differ little from those of normal family.2. The parents here in Kunming tend to spoil their children, or, on the contrary, fail to respect their children 's will in a proper way. Few of them adopt the authoritative manner of rearing.
