Yin Ruins Oracle Preliminary Study Of Interchangeable Characters

To decipher the borrowed words in the oracle-bone inscriptions is not only the difficulty to study and research the oracle-bone inscriptions, but also is indispensable to study the sound system of the Shang dynasty. The people in the past talked about it spreadly and didn't dissert synthetically too much. Lin Zu Tai, a Taiwan scholar, wrote "The study on the borrowed words in the oracle-bone inscriptions" in 1978 , but there is much errors in it. After that there is a lot of new data excavated. So we have the necessity to trim and research all the borrowed words that we know in the oracle-bone inscriptions.This paper is divided into five chapters. Preceding three chapters emphasize to introduce: the study of the borrowed words in the oracle-bone inscriotions in the past; the principle and methods of judging the borrowed words and we divided the borrowed words in the oracle-bone inscriptions into two category: Jia and Yi. Category Jia points to the words which exit orignally,is also of " writing wrong characters" which we usually say. Category Yi points the words which rise subsequently. Then we try to explain the reason on the appearance of borrowed words in oracle-bone inscriptions and explain some relating problems in brief. Chapter four mainly enumerated the borrowed words we collected in the oracle-bone inscriptions, and analyse the form sound and meaning of them briefly. Chapter five is the conclusion. Finally, we make a table with the borrowed words we collected so as to consult.
