Ming Dynasty At The County Level Zuo Ii Officer And Leader Of The Official Study

The administration for county district in Ming Dynasty is an important problem for both Ming period and the system history. But the research of county is seldom discussed in academic circles for a long time. Many scholars have focused the discussion mainly on the establishment and grades of county district or the head of county. There are few who put their eyes on the assistants of head. This thesis regards the Deputy Governor, the Zhu Bu and the Dian Shi in Shandong as the research objects in order to study their possible candidate, instauration, function and promotion systematically. Then we discuss their social positions and influences on the administrative program in county. Our aim is to make out how the Ming Dynasty's county system function. This thesis is divided into four parts:Part one introduction: In this part introduce the reason why I choose this topic and key point of researchment. Then give a brief introduce of academic history in this field. And point out that this study is nearly a blank in the academe.Part two: Discuss the assistants of the county—the Deputy Governor and the Zhu Bu's status and function in the county. The assistants in county is fewer in the early and late Ming Dynasty whie more in the middle period. Authough their duty is very important, because of their humble region, they are always enslaved to the head. In the same way, they could hardly succeed in their official career and they could no more than be promoted as the head of the county.Part three: Discuss the Dian Shi's status and function in the county. His duty is similar to the Wei in the county, that is in charge of the public security such as arrest the cracksmen, supervise the prison and so on. But in the early Ming Dynasty's main duty is in charge of the documents, receive and pay out money. From the middle period, their duty changed. What we should pay attention to the Dian Shi is that they played an important role on resisting the Qing's army.In the end, this thesis points out the system of assistants in county which include The Deputy Governor,.the Zhu Bu and the Dian Shi has important effect on the Qing Dynasty administration system.
