Hugo Wolf(1860-1903)was famous in art songs in the late of the romanticism in Germany. All in his life, he wrote more than two hundred art songs. His art songs expressed the idea of classic and romantic, with the color of the modern music. He combine the classic , romantic with the modernism colors perfectly, giving the art song strong vulgarity atmosphere and vitality. That enhances the development of the art songs in the Germany, or even in the world.The songbook Gedichte von Eduard M?rike written in 1888, was wolf's representative production and also the production which made him become famous in this world. Wolf claimed the songs that he wrote for M?rike's and Goethe's poesies were"poem songs". His"poem songs"composed a new form in the song domain and became one of the symbols which indicate the conversion from late romanticism to modernism. The conceptions and methods of his creating are very personally original, which are called"objective expression"by many critics .All of this was represented in his songbook Gedichte von Eduard M?rike.This article analyze and summarize the songbook Gedichte von Eduard M?rike from the creative background,art character and how to sing, wish to from this work ,provide the reference material about the three factor about wolf's art song.
