| The period of Early Tang Dynasty to Middle Tang Dynasty is an interim fromMiddle Ancient Chinese to Early Modem Chinese. There were a lot of new words,new meanings and peculiar lexical phenomena in the period. Chao Ye Qian Zai,which was accomplished at that time, is one of the most important fictions of sketches.It shows great value for us to study the lexical phenomena in that period. Thedisyllables in Chao Ye Qian Zai are the study objects in this dissertation that refers tothe Great Chinese Dictionary. The literatures in both Early Tang and Middle Tangor before Tang Dynasty are also cited by the thesis in order to research the newwords and the meanings. The characteristics, producing modes and causes of the newwords and new meanings are then summarized. At the same time, many defects suchas quotations lagging, paraphrases improper and so on in the Great ChineseDictionary are corrected or redressed in the process of the research on lexicalphenomena in Chao Ye Qian Zai. The research may offer an important datum toestablishing an intact glossary history and the compilation of dictionaries. |
