Mentally Disabled Athletes, Goal Orientation, Perfectionism, And Athletic Performance Relationship

In this study,there are two parts concluded:The first part was to revise the measurements.Using item analyse,confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's a coefficient analysis to assess the reliability and validity of the Achievement goal Orientation Questionnaire in Sport and Sport-specific Version of the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale.The second part was the quantity research,forecast relation between achievement goal orientation,perfectionism and sport performance by correlation analyse and structural equation modeling.The author measured 601 athletes of Special Olympics Games from Beijing,Tianjin,Shijiazhuang, Shanghai and Guangzhou by the questionnaires.The sample includes 302 male,299 female,age from 11 to 37 and includes Athletic,Gymnastics,Power lifting,Kayaking,Dragon-Lion,Team Handball,Cricket,Bowling.The conclusions of the research were:1,The Achievement goal Orientation Questionnaire in Sport compiled in the study consist of performance approach goal(6 item),performance avoid goal(3 item),mastery approach goal(8 item) and mastery avoid goal(3 item),had good reliabilities and validities and could be used in the following research.2,The achievement goal orientation(including mastery approach goal,mastery avoid goal,performance approach goal and performance avoid goal) developed by Pintrich(Pintrich,2000) was existent and meaning in intellectual disability sport.3,Achievement goal orientation,perfectionism and sport performance of intellectual disability sporter had not significant difference on gender and sport item.4,Mastery approach goal and pursue perfection of intellectual disability sporter had direct positive forecast effect on sport performance.5,Performance avoid goal,mastery avoid goal and negative reactions to imperfection of intellectual disability sporter had direct negative forecast effect on sport performance.6,Performance approach goal and mastery approach goal of intellectual disability sporter can indirectly forecast sport performance via pursue perfection.Performance approach goal and mastery approach goal had positive forecast effect on pursue perfection.7,Performance approach goal,performance void goal and mastery avoid goal of intellectual disability sporter can indirectly forecast sport performance via negative reactions to imperfection.Performance avoid goal and mastery avoid goal had positive forecast effect on negative reactions to imperfection,performance approach goal had negative forecast effect on negative reactions to imperfection.
