Trans-pronunciation word is one of the important parts of modern Chinese vocabulary. Based on previous researches of the grammar sector, this article conducted new classification to trans-pronunciation words, i.e. Chinese character trans-pronunciation words and non-Chinese character trans-pronunciation words. Based on this classification, we carried out detailed studies on the morphemes, constructive types, syllables and specifications of trans-pronunciation words, aimed to find out features of these respects and their mutual influences with modern Chinese vocabularies. In this article, trans-pronunciation words are divided as Chinese character trans-pronunciation words and non-Chinese character trans-pronunciation words. The former refers to those words that are translated from foreign words using Chinese character to represent the original pronunciations, including pure Chinese character trans-pronunciation words and half-Chinese character trans-pronunciation words. Non-Chinese character trans-pronunciation words refer to the non-traditional lettered word, including Chinese words formed by foreign letters and Chinese characters or totally by foreign letters. In respect of morphemes of trans-pronunciation words, this article argues that words representing fashionable meanings and connecting closed with daily lives and science & technologies are apt to generate morphemes or sub-morphemes. The new morphemes generated from trans-pronunciation words increased Chinese morphemes and formed great number of morphemes. The emerging of non-Chinese character trans-pronunciation morphemes composed a morphemes expression form and enlarged the Chinese morphemes family.Through the analysis of constructive forms of trans-pronunciation words, we found that all constructive forms came from the existing constructive forms of modern Chinese vocabulary; even the new words formed by Chinese character trans-pronunciation words made no breakthrough in constructive forms. The trans-pronunciation words and new words formed by Chinese character trans-pronunciation morphemes include single-morpheme words and compound words. The biased-positive composite compound words are the most important constructive form of compound words, followed by verb-object and juxtaposed composite compound words. Relatively saying, all trans-pronunciation words are featured by high transparency in terms of lexical meaning.Statistics of pure Chinese character trans-pronunciation words by this article shows that, disyllable words are the most ones, taking about 44% of the total trans-pronunciation words, followed by three-syllable words, 28%; four-syllable words, 15%, multi-syllable words, 10%, and single syllable words, 3 %. The theory about the advantages of disyllable words in modern Chinese is once again proved by pure Chinese character trans-pronunciation words. The inburst of great deal of trans-pronunciation words further enriched modern Chinese vocabulary. However, abuses of trans-pronunciation words also exerted negative impact upon the function of Chinese words. We need to standardize trans-pronunciation words to prevent unfavorable influences to language development.
