Complement Structure. "story Of A Marriage"

"The emergence and development of verb—complement structure is of great significance in Chinese language evolution in providing much precise expressions,.(JiangShaoyu,2005) This thesis choose the XingShiYinYuanZhuan one of full-length novels in the vernacular Chinese,which appears in lately stage of Ming dynasty and early stage of Qin dynasty,to special language material. We investigate fully into the Verb—complement structures and attempt to reveal their characteristics on the basis of analysis and description of the all examples.According to the classification standards of ZhuDexi in.YuFaJiangYi,We descrip and analyses the resultative complement structure:the directional complement structure:the potential complement structure:the descriptive complement structure and the degree complement structure.This thesis consists seven chapters.The first chapter"introduction"contains three parts.Firstly we summary the meaning of studying verb—complement structure and the Contemporary studying situation.Secondly,we explain the value and the version of material.Then we introduce the type of verb—complement structures and our studying methods.The second chapter"resultative complement" contains two parts.In the first part,we divide resultative complement into"verb+ general verb/adjective"," verb+completed verb"," verb+得"and"verb+将+ resultative complement"depend on the form and meaning of resultative complement.We analyses carefully the first three kinds and point out the distributive features:Then observe the special forms.We also constrate on the "V杀(O)'"'V死(O)"in the article.In the second part,the thesis takes an analysis of the resultative complement in semantic orientation.The"verb+general verb/adjective"has the most richful semantic orientation,which can point out "the subject,the object,the verb,one part of the subject and one part of the object ".The third chapter"directional complement".It includes four parts.The first part is summary of the directional verb,according to the standards of morden Chinese and the actual situation in XingShi Yin YuanZhuan,we confirm the number of directional verb is thirty seven.In the second part,we divide the directional complement structure into "adhesive type"and"combined type",and discuss their expression forms and syntactic features.In the third part,we analyse the meaning of directional complement,which can say directional,resultative and phase.In the forth part,we summary the different features of directional complement compared to morden Chinese.The forth chapter"potential complement",which includes three parts.In the ftrst and the second part,the text descripts various forms about "affirmative type"and"negative type",we also compare with related literatures.In the third part,we inspect the grammatical meanings and the context of potential complement,and discuss the the same and the difference in the usage compared to morden Chinese.The fifth chapter"descriptive complement",which contains four parts.In the first one,three forms of descriptive complement"V.得C"," V得OC"and"VO得C"are discussed,and related forms are distincted.We descriptcarefully the complement in the second part,find out there is not only same but also difference compeer to contemporary Chinese.In the third part,we analysis the semantic orientation of descnptive complement,there are six types.We disscuss the sentence types,which the descriptive complement can appeare.The sixth chapter"degree complement".We analysis the degree complement with"得"and without'"得",and then we also inspect the"V得OC"and"VO得C".The seventh chapter"conclusion",through our study from the second chapter to the sixth chapter,we can see the five kinds of verb—complement structures are adjusting.Although the verb—complement structures have many features of Ming-Qing period,but it is developing to morden Chinese and shows obvious features of transitional period.
