This essay focuses on the late work "chain" three series of works by the 20th century's representative Polish composer Witold ?Lutoslawski (1913-1994), and it tries to figure out lutoslawski's characteristics of his orchestration from his techniques in composing. This three works are: chamber music "chain 1" ( "chainâ… "), and it was created for 14 performers; Concerto "chain 2" ( "chainâ…¡")- A dialogue between Violin and Orchestra; Philharmonic "Chain 3" ( "chainâ…¢"). By making the overall analysis of three works, especially to dissect the orchestration, it means to summarize the relationship between the techniques of modern music composition in the 20th century and the orchestration, as well as the creative concept which was followed by lutoslawski during his life. The article analyzes the creative methods that used the development in the composition and to perform the music at the basis of developing his own unique creative approach. This paper analyzes the lutoslawski's contribution over the two aspects of inheritance and development. The "Chain" series is the single work which was titled by a serious during the composer's late works. Three works "Chain 1", "chain 2", "chain 3" have a delicate internal contact. It studies that the composer dedicated to transmit his creative concept no matter on the techniques of composing and on the means of Orchestration, besides that he also used different expressin ways to annotate the music individually and further develop it. In lutoslawski's creative career, the chain technology and the occasional music makes his works original in all aspects of composing. His unique characteristics are not only shown by the sound, but also the music and the orchestration. By treating the "chain" series as a breakthrough point, This article makes a deep analysis of the composer's mode of thinking to use the timber. The thesis infiltrates the strict control over the music forms, the symmetry and the clearness of the structure and also the richness in logic in lutoslawski's works. At the meanwhile, the orchestration changes all the time, and it tries to mix up a lot of trivial continuous images and make an analysis of the skills one by one which were valued by the composer, while using the organizational principles from the logic of math, physics and chemistry to express his idea. At the same time, it pays more attention to the aesthetic value of music itself . But Malinowski doesn't use technology for technology. He believes that the ultimate goal of all the technical means is always to enhance the musical expression. Even though his music is a modern style, however he has always insisted on the traditional creative principle as the composing foundation to create his own unique musical language by combining the elements of the modern music. In this study, I focus on elaborating the characteristics of orchestration from the sound language in lutoslawski's works. Moreover, I find the breakthrough point respectively on combining of the sound of orchestration according to the "chain" of the composition techniques and the occasional music composition techniques. Among the occasional music composition techniques, it's obvious to enjoy the collision of the sound. He has both contingence and logic under the control, so at the same time the random sound effects under the control of different music instruments and sound generation are also showed. This from various angles and levels to make an analysis of lutoslawski's characteristics of his orchestration.
