Logical Semantics is an important branch of linguistic semantics, which focuses on examining semantics with logical means. With a profound observable investigation, the devices of logical semantics have been widely applied and developed by more and more linguists. Up till now, it has formed into a key subject of semantics. The thesis aims at expounding several classical methods of logical linguistics in details, regarding sets theory, propositional logic, predicate logic, modal logic, intentional logic and categorical logic. While it presents a discussion about truth value. Through the analysis of many examples about natural language, it hasa turned out to be a gap between logical semantics and natural language. Sometimes methods in logical semantics cannot describe particular structure and the truth out of natural language. Thus, vagueness and paradox come into being. To solve this problem, ner analytic methods are supposed to be added, such as the methods from cognitive semantics by Jackendoff which play a significant role in the means of later logical semantic analysis. Logical semantics has been greatly advanced by Jackendoff's conceptual structure, which mostly concerns the relationship between the sense of the human being and semantic structure.
