"Honesty" is the traditional virtue of Chinese nation, and also the important philosophical category in the history of Chinese traditional ethical thinking. The Er Cheng brothers inherited and developed the "Sincerity" of the traditional ethical category, embodied what the theory of Golden Mean advocated "The highest intelligent talk about moderation" thinking quality, and possessed the thinking value of across time and space and the function of practice. With the considerable of complexity, the ideology of The Er Cheng can be studied from different angles and levels, And considering its ethical thinking, it has many aspects of contents, such as ontology, theory of temperament, theory of knowledge and practice, theory of cultivation and the theory of realm. This text will study the "Honesty" of The Er Chengs' moral realm by the aspect of moral cultivation.The philosophical ethics thought of The Er Chengs has come into being in a very complicated academic background: experienced the course of Confucianism changing from middle decline to renovation, and at the same time it also benefited from the persevering efforts of some pioneers. "Honesty", the important philosophical category in the Chinese traditional ethical thinking history has a very long theoretical origin: First, it belonged to the theory of The Golden Mean, then the Mencius, and then Li ao, at last it belonged to Zhou Dunyi. Here the text will focus on elaborating the "sincerity" of The Er Chengs. "Honesty" is the fundamental nature of moral property. Based on the achievement of some pioneers, The Er Chengs made a further research for it, They explained "Honesty" by "Real Reason" and "No Mirage", laid the foundational definition of the "Honesty". And at the same time, "Honesty" is the highest moral standards of the human ethics. The theory of moral origin of The Er Chengs deducted from "Reason" to "Honesty" is an important theoretical steps to change the morals of human ethics from disciplined by others to self-discipline, inspire the change of people's moral practice from "In Ourselves" to "For Ourselves". Finally, the text will focus on evaluating The Er Chengs' inheritance and surpassing towards the "Honesty" and its defect.
