Status And Prospects Of China's Multilateral Diplomacy

With the rapid development of economic globalization, the interdependence between countries continues to deepen. The development of political multi-polarization and the emergence of global issues provide a broad space for cooperation of actors in international relations. In the background, multilateral diplomacy is getting more and more frequent and active, and it is playing an increasingly important role in international relations. Practice of multilateral diplomacy promotes the development of theory innovation of multilateral diplomacy. In recent years, the discussion on multilateral diplomacy is a very hot topic. There are a lot of related monographs, translations, journal articles, whether Chinese or foreign. It has a long history for Western countries to start study on multilateral diplomacy, and there are plenty of works on multilateral diplomacy. Also, the achievements are great. China started the study on Multilateral Diplomacy after the Cold War, and until the past few years, Chinese scholars carried out the study of multilateral diplomacy. In this article, I have a comprehensive analysis of China's multilateral diplomatic status, which is on the basis of the study status of Chinese scholars. Article is divided into four parts. On the first part, I get a analysis of theoretical research, and introduce the concept,characteristics and role of multilateral diplomacy. On the second part, I introduce the historical process of the practice of China's multilateral diplomacy in the line of time and thoughts of Chinese leaders. On the third part, the practice of multilateral diplomacy in China have been classified into three categories. These are policy recommendations, case studies and study on multilateral diplomacy of the major foreign powers. I sum up the main characteristics and shortcomings of the studies of China's multilateral diplomacy on this basis preceding analysis, for example, theory study is not deep enough and there is a lack of evidence research methods in the case study and other issues...
