China, the oriental great power, is highlighted on the world community by its unique long history, culture and special political and economic systems as well as highly rapid development .In addition, it is linked to the world with unprecedented density and is influencing the prospect of the reorganization of international structure in a particular new role. Here the thesis is aiming at analyzing some areas needing more emphasis and research for China's diplomacy with the logic system and theoretical paradigm of constructivism. These areas, which are titled "the growing points of China's diplomacy": harmonious diplomacy, public diplomacy and multilateral diplomacy, are often neglected or explained roughly by the rationalism as the mainstream of international relations theory. The constructivism possesses the ontology of idealism, the foundational theory items, such as idea, role, identity, the paradigm of sociology and the theoretical preference of evolution. Based on the framework and characteristics, as well as the organization and purification to the realistic social problems, the target of the thesis is to present a new visual field of research avenues and approaches to China's diplomacy, other than those traditional stereotyped ones.Above all, the paper provides the theoretical summary of constructivism, comparing other mainstream international relations theories, and then, analyses the "oriental features" of Chinese historical foreign affairs, discovering some coincidence between them and offering a vertical vision, connecting history and the contemporary era. Based on the coincidence, the analysis on "the growing points" of China's diplomacy is the major part of the thesis. Firstly, it is harmonious diplomacy. "Harmonious World" is an indispensable component as a landmark for the contemporary China's diplomacy. After the constructivist explanation for the idea "Harmonious World" ,the thesis points out that a rising great power should have the capability of inventing great aspiration and introducing related strategic programs as the pillars for its future. Then taking the multilateral ties of Sino-African countries as a case, we explore the prospect of constructing "Sino-African Pluralistic Security Community" so as to try the utmost to consider the possible maneuverability for the "Harmonious World". Secondly, Public diplomacy. We explain it with the logic of reciprocity of constructivism, and then give our consideration about the orientation of China's public diplomacy, associating some examples, e.g. culture-year between China and foreign countries, Olympic Games, the rescue activities for Chinese expatriates. The final part is multilateral diplomacy. Grounded on the constructivist analysis on the process of China's taking part in the multilateral institutions, the paper elaborates the interaction between international environment governing regime and China from the perspective of the interaction between international structure and agents. By virtue of these explanation, we find that China has experienced a tough process in participating the environment governing regime, from environmental enlightenment, environmental participation, and taking the environmental responsibilities. Furthermore, this analysis also makes us anticipate that China has to face a lot of challenges in the future road of participating the multilateral regimes.
