A Study On The Relationship Between Physical And Mental Health And Nursing Time In The Elderly

With our country enter the aging time, pension problems is increasingly becoming the focus of the society. However, since the development of our society, not only increased the average life expectancy of the elderly, as well as expansion of population size, and the number of older people who has the obstacles of ADL has also increased. But, the core of our family and increasing work pressure of caregivers, exacerbated the difficulty of solving the long-term care need of the older people. Therefore, in the aging time, our ccuntry needs to establish a long-term care policy for the elderly, building the pension system on the basis of health insurance, pension insurance and LTC insurance.To build the LTC policy not only needs to find the right ideological and theoretical support, and specific the implementation principles and direction, but the key is to find the right assessment criteria of the elderly, in order to determine the care needs of the elderly. So, according to the study of the elderly LTC policy, firstly this paper discusses the development process of the social welfare thought and explains the ideological origin and the characteristics of the elderly LTC policy in the developed countries. Secondly, according to the experience of developed countries, through empirical research in our country, proposed scientific and feasible evaluation criteria and methods for the implementation of the elderly LTC policy in our country.This study takes the elder persons in the nursing homes in Dandong City, Liaoning Province as the survey respondent, extracted 420 samples and got 399 valid samples finally. In the process of the investigation, researchers got the respondents’ physical condition data in the five aspects of body functions and living movement, life functions, cognitive function, mental and behavioral disorders, adaptability of social life with scales. Meanwhile, researchers got the care time data of every respondent in the aspects of cleaning, cosmetic, dressing, bathing, toilet, eating, moving and the shift stand, medical care and other activities in two days through structural observation. On the research method, this study based on the Japanese experience, analyzes the relationship between the elderly health condition and the care time they got through the tree model method, verifying the accuracy and scientific of the criteria that assessing the elders’care needs level by the care time.The results show that the criteria of the care time can evaluate the elders’ care needs accurately. And by implementing the assessment criteria of software and standardization, the criteria of care time cannot only improve the scientific of the assessment, providing convenience to implement the LTC policy, but also avoid interference of the human factor during the assessment as possible, reducing the waste of resources caused by excessive care of the elderly. Therefore, to be the criteria of assessment, care time is a scientific and feasible method.
