At present, our government is in the period of transformation, food safety regulatory system is changing, food safety emergency happens frequently, the number is increasing every year. For consumers, food safety emergencies harm the interests of consumers, so that consumers can not consume normal quality food. For people, food safety emergencies harm the people the right to life, the low quality food will often harm people’s lives. For local government, food safety emergencies damage the credibility of the government, people will attribute food safety emergencies to government of dereliction of duty. Overall, food safety emergencies often result in bad influence. Local government handle food safety emergencies, its efficiency, the level of the way, depend whether food safety emergencies can be properly resolved or not, it is an important guarantee for social stability.However, when the government deal with food safety emergencies, it will produce some problems,the problems mainly exist in the following four modules:the emergency plan activated, command and coordination, implementation of emergency measures and information dissemination. In particular, the following problems:rapid reaction mechanism is not perfect, inadequate understanding of food safety emergencies, headquarters lack of leadership, coordination process is not smooth, low level of technology security, inadequate emergency response team capabilities, less social forces to participate in the information transfer is not smooth, information disclosure aging poor, less use of media communication.Deal with the problems, drawing on the international experience, Five recommendations were put forward to optimize local government emergency measures from the strengthening of the monitoring and early warning, to play the main role of local governments in emergency disposal, to play the role of social forces to participate in, and improve the information disclosure system, increased emergency support.
