A Study On The Family Influence In Contemporary Chinese Rural Grassroots Election

Village Grassroots Election System in China is not only an important guarantee of rural grassroots democracy, but also an important mean to maintain villagers’ self-government policy.Family culture and family force are strong and active in rural society, which we can’t ignore it on the way to the construction of democracy at grassroots level for it’s positive or negative influence on grassroots democracy. Based on the harmonious relationship between family and grassroots democracy, aimed at promoting social improvements, this paper search for the reasons why family do negative impact on village election from political, economics and legal aspects.This paper put forward some ideas about how to eliminate family’s negative influence on village election with the reference of other research results, based on the current social background.To study the family’s influence on village election, we need understand three questions, that is why do the family influence rural grassroots election, what kind of family would influence rural grassroots election, and what impact do the family make on rural grassroots election. This paper mainly divided into the following four parts:The first part is mainly summarized of election and grassroots election in rural region, then put forward the basic principle that we should follow during the grassroots election in rural region.What’s more, the paper introduce the historical development of rural grassroots election in our country and introduce the legal basis of villagers’ self-government system under the background of rural grassroots election. It expounded the significance of rural grassroots election.The second part put forward the simple definition of the family specific to the main research subject, that the family is an inhabited group, gathered by blood or marriage. It introduce the family’s status and family’s influence on politics,economics and culture in China. It also analysis the development trend of the family. The author expounds the positive and negative influence of rural grassroots election and clarify family’s positive role in the democracy construction at rural grassroots level. It explain the impact on rural grassroots election, then put forward the reason why the family made such impact on rural grassroots election.The third part analysis why the family do negative impact on rural grassroots election, based on the politics, economics, culture and laws, and it put forward the specific social backgrounds that the family would make negative influence on rural grassroots election and explain the causation of this impact under the background of the family and the society.The fourth part main study the potential solutions to eliminate the negative impact on rural grassroots election from the family. The author put forward several measures from government’s perspective, such as the active participation, correct guideline, stronger law to improve ruraleconomics,rural social security and efforts to rich the spiritual life in rural region. With this efforts, the family can make more positive influence instead of negative influence on rural grassroots election.
