A Study On The "Luo Xingya Problem" In Myanmar From The Perspective Of Identity

Myanmar is an important part of China’s peripheral diplomacy, and the ethnic problem is the core issue for social stability, the democratic transition, and the national unity of Myanmar. Nobody can avoid its ethnic problems when researching on Myanmar. "Rohingya problem" is pretty different in a lot of ethnic problems in Myanmar.Due to factors such as history, politics, religion and international, it is very sensitive. At the same time, "Rohingya problems involved in the international law" "refugees" and "stateless persons" and so on the content, it is also a global governance issues to some extent. Since 2011, "Rohingya problem" intensified, has serious disturbance to the country’s democratic transition and national reconciliation process. Therefore, research of Myanmar "Rohingya problem" has an important theoretical and practical significance.This study first integrated using of the theories of social identity, starting from the literature, analysis of the origin of "the Rohingya people", "the Rohingya people"ethnic identity formation and produce process of "Rohingya problem". Then, it used social identity theory to explain the how the "Rohingya question" developed so far,and the problem in the form of the country and the latest development trend, and the substance and connotation of the problems are analyzed. At the same time, the study also combed the "Rohingya problem" as the Myanmar government brings a series of diplomatic predicament. Finally, basing on "Rohingya problem" for Myanmar’s domestic and foreign affairs, as well as the influence of the application of double game theory, "Rohingya problem solving game level, and respectively from the Angle of the Burmese government and the rohingya people put forward the advice to solve the problem.This study argues that the “Rohingya” people have common features and historical memory that they have the "inner self"; With the interaction of external groups such as British colonists, "I" identity is activated. Under the effect of internal and external factors, and gradually formed a "rohingya people" identity. Has already formed the identity of the rohingya people, by the Burmese government policy deprived of legal status, eventually lead to the problem. "The rohingya people" and other subjects of Myanmar ethnic identity, after the evolution constantly exaggerate "in-group" sense of superiority, that hate each other. This research also argues that the core of "Rohingya problem" is the problem of the Rohingya people’s identity. TheMyanmar government for "Rohingya problem" suffered from neighboring countries,the Muslim world, the western countries and international organizations. Double game theory enlightenment to problem solving mainly has four points: The first is the Myanmar government should further grasp the position of different groups; The second is that the Myanmar government can change the negotiation strategy; The Third is the Rohingya people should continue to expand the international and domestic game space; Forth is tan the Rohingya people should be caution forming multinational coalition.
