| Guangyi Village Changning County is one of the impoverished and cold highland areas in Yunnan Province with poor natural environment and stagnant economic development. Over the recent years, more and more people here have been out to serve as migrants, the flow of population has become faster and faster and the conflict of old and new cultures has grown severer and severer. Up to the end of 2014, the total population in the village reaches 2323, among which there are 406 elders of 60 years old or more accounting for 17.5% with the aging rate of 14.8%. The aging problem is severe and the elder are faced with all kinds of problems in daily life, health, psychology, etc. The status of elderly care is worrying.This thesis applies the methods of questionnaire survey, in-depth interview and observation to conduct empirical studies on the problems about elderly care in Guangyi Village Changning County. On the basis, family life circle theory, social exchange theory and other relevant social theories are applied to analyze the problems about elderly care and their causes. Accordingly, feasible countermeasures are taken to improve the status of elderly care.This thesis can be divided into three parts. The first part is the introduction which involves the research background, overseas and domestic research status, illustrations of related concepts, research method, research significance and innovative points. The second part includes four chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the status quo of the elder in Guangyi Village Changning County such as elderly population,the existing pension model, living conditions.Chapter 2 illustrates the existing problems about elderly care in Chuangyi Village such as insufficient supply, lack of care for the elder in their daily life and of psychological comfort, heavy labor pressure, no security, etc. Chapter 3 analyzes the causes of the problems about elderly care and concludes that the serious problems about elderly care arise from some economic, family and social-security-related factors. Chapter 4 discusses the feasible countermeasures to improve the status of elderly care based on the local realities, which advocates the cooperation of the family, primary organizations and local government to create an appropriate environment for elderly care. The last part consists of the conclusion and introduction. A summary of the thesis is concluded that the most serious problems in the village about elderly care are lonely mental state and insecure health. In terms of the main causes of elderly care problems in the village, it is a strategic measure to safeguard the original family foundation for elderly care and strengthen the social support as well. |
