As a long-term arduous systematic project, tackling the problem of Taiwan and achieving the reunification of the whole China has been a historical mission of several generations. From the macroscopic viewpoint, this thesis offers a comprehensive investigation into the 揟wo-China?policy put forward by the Taiwan authorities, aiming at providing people with an overall understanding of the policy and helping them to realize the necessity, certainty and urgency of the complete reunification of China, thus having a great practical significance. The first part of this thesis talks about the formation of the 揟wo-China?policy and gives an exploratory explanation of its causes, its process can be divided into 4 stages , namely , the transitional stage from the 揟heory of One country?to the 揟heory of Two countries? the embryonic stage of the 揟heory of Two countries ? the formative stage and the stage of its entire formulation. Analyzed from 4 angles? internal, external, subjective and objective, the causes of it can be summarized in the following aspects: the political situation and economic condition in Taiwan , the interference of foreign anti-Chinese forces, and the personal characters of Li Deng Hui , the leader of this policy. Part Two renders a profound analysis of the true intentions of the 揟wo-China~~ policy. In the aspect of internal affairs ,the policy is carried out for the establishment of 搕he Republic of China?in Taiwan through 搑eform? in the diplomatic aspect, it抯 carried out for the implementation of the 揚ractical Diplomacy 揳nd 揇ouble Acknowledgement?with an attempt to 搑eturn to the international community? in the military aspect, it抯 carries out for the adjustment of strategies , the renewal of weaponry, the struggle for the participation in the TM]) led by the U?S A and the reinforcement of the confrontation against the mainland ; in the aspect of the relationship with the mainland , it抯 carried out for the suppression of the favorable development of the relationship with a purpose of disruption. The third part analyzes the trend of the 揟wo-China?policy and emphasizes its doomed failure violating historical facts and legal principles, the 揟wo-China?policy is resolutely opposed by Chinese government and people. Nor will the international community or Taiwan people accept it. The last part brings forward 4 suggestions against the 揟wo-China?policy and looks forward to the bright future of a completely unified China.
