Shuangqiao District, Chongqing City Economic Development Strategy

Shuangqiao District of Chongqing was founded in 1974. The original intention of its foundation was to serve the production and the daily life of the staff of Sichuan Truck Plant--a large first-class enterprise of the Central Government.The research on the local situation has been changing and different areas need different thought to direct the economy. Therefore, the developing strategy of the district has also been changing relevantly since it was founded . And the former strategy has been affected the economic development of the whole district variously. At present, the government of the district is organizing to make up the tenth "Five-Year" plan, asking for suggestions from people all over the district. Thanks to that I've been working in the government for a long time, I know the local situation quite well. I've chosen this subject to study the strategy for the economical development of the whole district in order to follow the basic principle of MBA which pays attention to the solution of the practical problems.The thesis is divided into two sections to study the strategy for the economical development of the whole district. In the first section, the writer managed to display the local situation for the strategy in three chapters: the basic situation of Shuangqiao, the environment Shuangqiao is facing, analysis of SWOT. In the second section, the writer managed to plan for the strategy in four chapters: the directing thought for making up the strategy, the function of the strategy for the economical development of Shuangqiao, the focal points and countermove of the strategy.After researching on the strategy, analyzing the situation of the district, according to its special situation of high-degree industrialization and civilization , small total economy quantity but large average for each, also in order to follow the directing thought of developing the core competiting capacity and special economy, "setting up a district with strong economic where there is no difference between the town and the countryside " is regarded as the function and the target of the strategy for the economical development of Shuangqiao . And the four focal points of the strategy are made sure in the thesis. They are: reforming and improving the present key industry; devoting major effort to bring up the future key industry; accelerating the process on industrializing the agriculture; accelerating the construction of the small town. The relevant detail strategy countermove is also advanced according to the four focal points.On the thesis, the writer tries to make innovations in four respects while he studies the economic development of Shuangqiao. First, "developing the core competiting capacity and special economy of an area" is considered to be the directing thought. " Small and all" is avoided. Second," strengthening the economic of the district and making the public rich, depending on people "is considered to be the starting and ending points. So short-term effect can be avoided. Third, the writer mainly managed to answer the most important question that what kind of strategy target should be chosen for Shuangqiao and how to realize it. To avoid dealing with every respect, the strategy is not studied completely and systematically. Fourth, the practicality of the strategy is stressed according to the situation of Shuangqiao .In another word, the realization and the practicality of the focal points and the countermove of the strategy are stressed in the thesis.
